About this event

Learn to build an underwater robot and coach a SeaPerch team. Free, with a $100 stipend and a take-home ROV kit. Apply by Oct. 20.

Full description

Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance is hosting a one-day professional development workshop for educators who want to start a SeaPerch team.

SeaPerch is an underwater robotics competition. Student teams design and build a remotely operated vehicle (ROV). Then they pilot it through challenges modeled on underwater researchers’ work: navigating shipwrecks, moving around coral reefs, and collecting samples.

What you’ll get

• Hands-on practice building a SeaPerch ROV

• Guidance on coaching a student team through the season

• A free SeaPerch ROV kit for your team to keep for the season

• A $100 stipend for attending

Middle and high school teams can qualify for the International SeaPerch Challenge in May 2027.

Who should apply

The workshop is open to educators in grades 3–12 and works best for grades 6–12. Priority goes to educators who haven’t attended this workshop before or participated in SeaPerch.

Deadlines

• Applications are due Tuesday, October 20.

• Applicants will be notified by Tuesday, October 27.
