  • Hundreds of families enjoyed Discovery Lab’s annual Noon Year's Eve today at the Tulsa facility where over 20,000 balloons fell from the ceiling & 550 people popped them during interactive science exhibits. The event provided playful learning for all ages.  2 News
  • A Tulsa homeowner had his water shut off on Dec. 13 for a reported leak and spent $1400 on plumbing while he was without water for over two weeks. City crews set up a temporary line the next day and community help repaired his bathroom at no cost.  2 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • 6-year-old Joseph Watts from Green Country went viral for his playful antics on a basketball court, which led his family to be flown to New York City for NBC's national New Year's Eve special+ his viral moment also inspired his parents to publish a children's book.  2 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • In 2025, Oklahoma’s education system was rocked by controversy over Bible-based curriculum requirements and free meal orders; former Superintendent Ryan Walters resigned in September and interim Lindel Fields vowed to return schools to basics (to renew career and college pathways).  2 News

  • Tulsa invested millions in affordable housing during 2025 to help hundreds secure permanent homes amid a rising homeless count — officials will begin the next Point in Time Count in January to gauge progress.  2 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Myles Dobson, 33, was airlifted last May to a Tulsa hospital for a severe illness — his family thanked the MediFlight crew on Dec. 21 for their quick help after a 150-day hospital stay.  KTUL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Racers from around the world competed at the Tulsa Shootout (micro-sprint racing) at SageNet Expo on Dec. 31, showcasing fast, thrilling contests on a prestigious dirt track.  FOX 23
  • Adriana 'Armbar Adri' Hogan, age 9½ from Broken Arrow has racked up 82 wins in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and secured a sponsorship from Sneaky Artistry while training at Cohesion Training Academy. She plans to continue competing, earn her black belt, & open her own academy to inspire local youth.  News On 6
  • Racers competed in the Tulsa Shootout heat races last Wednesday at SageNet Expo, drawing nearly 2,000 entries to an indoor dirt track event for the Golden Driller trophy. Qualifiers are taking place today and Friday with the finale set for Saturday night (a must-see finish).  FOX 23
