  • Children's Medical Charities Association donated over $150,000 to 25 Tulsa nonprofits in 2025 to help local children access medical care + community programs. Nonprofit leaders said the funds will support ongoing services.  FOX 23

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Crews are battling a large fire near 6200 Southwest Boulevard in west Tulsa as emergency personnel work to contain the flames — the incident remains under investigation.  2 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprise launched a mobile betting app that lets users play slot machines on their phone within reservation boundaries (including parts of Tulsa) and requires age verification with ID and a selfie. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.  News On 6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • An ORU graduate won an international film competition she entered during her last semester on Jan. 15. Her win recognizes creative achievement and adds a proud milestone for local students.  FOX 23
  • McLain High School offers a student-run record label program through TMC Records + founded by Stephon Simon to teach music production using professional equipment. The elective helps north Tulsa students gain real-world skills while supporting the school with proceeds.  FOX 23
  • Holland Hall broke ground on its H.A. Chapman Middle School on Wednesday as part of a $41 million campaign to update a 40 year old facility for grades 4-8—construction will add a new two story building and connecting courtyard and finish before Fall 2027.  FOX 23

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Islamic Society of Tulsa plans to challenge Broken Arrow’s zoning decision after the council denied a request to build a mosque. They may contest the ruling with legal action under RLUIPA and by seeking review from regulatory bodies (aiming for a fair process).  FOX 23

HEALTH NEWS

  • Family and Children Services in Tulsa and Hope Community Services in Oklahoma City announced plans yesterday to merge and expand mental health and family services across Oklahoma. The merger is expected to boost support for local families.  FOX 23
  • FOX23's ride-along video from Jan. 15 shows Grand Mental Health outreach teams working at busy intersections — hidden encampments along railroad tracks — and wooded areas in Tulsa to help people facing homelessness, addiction, and trauma.  FOX 23
