- ➤ After a winter storm canceled classes, Tulsa area school districts will adjust calendars to make up four lost snow days. Tulsa Public Schools will add days after Memorial Day, while Broken Arrow, Union, Bixby, Owasso, and Jenks relied on built-in days or online classes (Jenks shifted its start to avoid extending the school year). - ➤ Since Friday, Tulsa’s warming shelters have served 1,100 people as arctic weather is forecast + four shelters remain at emergency capacity. The Day Center accepts warm clothing donations while Safe Move Tulsa works to provide permanent housing for those in need. News On 6
- ➤ Officials said that freezing temperatures have led to 56 breaks on older cast-iron water lines compared to 250 in a 2021 storm, while newer PVC lines held up well. Tulsa advises residents to open faucets during freezing weather (repairs will continue to be monitored through the weekend). KTUL
- ➤ Travelers flying from Tulsa who lack a RealID, valid U.S. passport, or tribal ID must pay $45 for TSA's ConfirmID service starting Feb. 1 (the fee covers a ten-day travel period), so they are advised to arrive early at security. 2 News
