- ➤ Tulsa's Greenwood District (Black Wall Street) was once a thriving community with over 300 Black-owned businesses starting in 1906 before it was largely destroyed in the 1921 race massacre. The area partially rebuilt afterward, though its historic wealth was never fully restored. 2 News
- ➤ Historic Vernon AME Church held its groundbreaking on Feb. 12 to transform its basement into (a $1.5 million interpretive center) that will display over 5,000 artifacts and share Greenwood’s full story.
