COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On March 9, the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Oklahoma released a list of 2025 scams that may still catch you or a loved one off guard (FOX23 reported). Local residents are encouraged to review tips on avoiding these schemes.  FOX 23
  • Last Friday, an EF-1 tornado damaged roofs and trees in north Tulsa. Neighbors, aided by local crews plus emergency responders, cleared debris ahead of more storms expected this week.  2 News
  • The Wright family in Bixby launched the Kinsey Wright Foundation in January to help families get grief counseling after a loss — they will host a 5K fun run on March 28 along a route special to 15-year-old Kinsey, who died in a car crash 2.5 years ago.  2 News

  • A tornado hit Beggs Friday evening, destroying a home and an 80-acre ranch while taking the lives of Becky and Todd; survivors Ace and his girlfriend Makayla suffered injuries and face a long recovery (GoFundMe pages support the family).  FOX 23

  • Bishop David Konderla will celebrate Mass at Tulsa IrishFest on Sunday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at Cabin Boys Brewery at 1717 E. 7th St, where gates open at 9:30 a.m. for first-come seating.  KTUL
  • Students from Foyil Music Studio in Owasso were chosen for the National Masterwork Chorus and will perform with the BASHA Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York City, giving them a rare chance to showcase their talent.  KTUL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Tulsa named UT alumna Stacy Leeds its 22nd president effective July 1 (the first woman permanent president) and she will welcome the Class of 2030 in August while hosting a fall summit with Tulsa business leaders.  KTUL
  • Tulsa Public Schools surprised five staff members on Monday by announcing them as finalists for the 2026 Support Professional of the Year; their contributions to maintaining safe, clean schools and nutritious meals are being recognized with an event planned for April.  FOX 23

HEALTH NEWS

  • Tulsa Zoo is carefully monitoring its aging Asian elephant Tina (recently diagnosed with a uterine infection linked to a chronic reproductive condition) as she remains active with her herd while staff adjusts her treatment daily.  News On 6

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Western Supply is pre-leasing 320 mixed-income units, including apartments and townhomes in downtown Tulsa’s Arts District, with the planned opening on April 13. The project will offer 80 reduced workforce-rate units and amenities such as co-working spaces, a resort-style pool, and an in-lobby market.  KTUL
