COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Cascia Hall Upper School students will perform today at the school’s annual Social Justice Concert at the Performing Arts Center to support Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma’s Women’s Health and Pregnancy Clinic. Guests are encouraged to bring donations (baby formula, diapers, gift cards, and bottles) to aid the clinic.  FOX 23

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Amazon will build four delivery facilities statewide, including a same-day site in Broken Arrow near East 81st St and 193rd East Ave that opens later next year. Rural stations in Weatherford and Perry will follow later this year while the McAlester station already operates, creating 100+ jobs and boosting access.  News On 6
  • Tulsa-based Bama Companies is marking the anniversary of its Caring Center (which gives employees free mental health, legal, and educational support) to honor its ongoing commitment to staff welfare.  News On 6

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Data centers are being proposed across Green Country with sites planned in Owasso, Sand Springs, Coweta, and east Tulsa. The new projects aim to boost local economic development while prompting concerns over water use and electricity demand.  FOX 23

EDUCATION NEWS

  • After a tornado damaged Beggs Middle School on March 6, school leaders announced the building will not be used for the rest of the school year as classes will continue on campus (details of the alternative plan will be shared at the upcoming back-to-school meeting).  2 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City leaders said recovery efforts are underway in North Tulsa after an EF-1 tornado hit on March 6. Crews addressed streets and structures and residents in the damage area can contact 311 for free greenwaste pickup (yard debris only) or a dump pass.  KTUL
  • Oklahoma has been chosen as a hub for the White House-backed electric air taxi pilot program; Joby Aviation says agreements need to be finalized before flights begin later this year.  News On 6
  • The Tulsa Fire Department is set to train new firefighter cadets for spring emergencies across Green Country while reminding residents to follow wildfire safety tips. Spokesman Andy Little said the program will boost emergency readiness + help protect the community.  News On 6
