- ➤ Empower Business Services, a part of the Gatesway Foundation, has expanded its paper shredding work into office supply sales and printing to give jobs to people with developmental disabilities during National Intellectual and Developmental Disability Awareness Month—this new effort builds on long-term housing support and is backed by donors such as the State Department of Commerce. - ➤ Keenan Barnard, the last surviving founder of Iron Gate, started the food pantry in 1978 and now serves thousands each month from its space on Archer—carrying on a mission that began in a church kitchen.
