COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Sunday the Tulsa Dreamland Festival hosted a community kickball game at Oneok Field—proceeds from the game went to the Dreamland Artists Development Program at McClain High School—and founder Steph Simon asked Tulsa residents for $10 donations online. The Dreamland Festival will run from September 26 through September 28 in the historic Greenwood District.  FOX 23
  • Today, Mannford Public Library began collecting stuffed animals to comfort kids affected by wildfires and received many donations from local and out-of-town visitors — the library has set up tables and bins and will send unsorted toys to First Baptist Church Mannford for adoption or to local first responders. Director Colleen Branson said the effort was meant to help families who lost their homes.  FOX 23

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On March 23rd, a wildfire in Mannford destroyed the home and rabbit farm of expecting parents Emma and Brandon Plute, who lost several pets and cherished items and are now staying in Sand Springs as they await their baby in September.  News On 6
  • Police are responding to a deadly car crash near 46th Street and Peoria Avenue by McClain High School in north Tulsa—both drivers died, with one dying on impact and the other succumbing en route to the hospital while the road from 46th Street to East 47th near Metro by T-Mobile remains blocked.  FOX 23

CRIME NEWS

  • Tulsa police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a Quiktrip near 11th and Garnett on March 23, where a person was fatally shot after an altercation—authorities tracked the suspect using a helicopter and license plate reading cameras.  2 News
  • The Tulsa Police Department said three juveniles stole a white Kia Soul and crashed it into a fence in north Tulsa just before 6 a.m. on Sunday, injuring one boy before they fled on foot and were later taken into custody—police also contacted the car owner.  FOX 23

CULTURE NEWS

  • Family and local leaders have restarted plans in downtown Tulsa for Tito's Place, a 2000-seat hall and small museum honoring musician Tito Jackson, whose work was paused after he died in September 2024. The venue is expected to open in 2026 — a tribute to his lasting legacy in the Tulsa Arts District.  FOX 23

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A study found that Oklahomans spent about $3,198 per year on takeout, which is nearly 24 percent less than the national average. The report from March 23rd said lower incomes in the state may explain the smaller spending on food consumed outside the home.  News On 6
