  • Students from Tulsa hosted a panel at Greenwood Rising on March 24 about leadership, opportunity and change in the community. The free event featured a live Q&A and is expected to inspire ongoing youth dialogue with local leaders.  News On 6
  • The American Red Cross urges Oklahomans to donate ahead of National Giving Day tomorrow to support disaster relief, including emergency shelter efforts after recent severe weather and home fires. Each small donation helps provide meals + essential supplies during crises.  FOX 23
  • A teen-led fundraiser organized by the Tulsa Period Pantry Youth Advisory Board was held Tuesday night to raise funds for period products available at 70 schools and youth programs across Tulsa County. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters responded to a roof fire at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church near 15th Street and Peoria Avenue around 2 a.m. Tuesday and reported no injuries while they worked to assess damage — church leaders said the building is closed but is expected to reopen within a week.  News On 6
  • A zipper merge on Highway 75 near Jenks to improve traffic flow has instead caused long backups + crashes as drivers struggle to merge correctly, prompting enhanced signage and increased police patrols while officials continue monitoring the situation.  News On 6

  • Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders come to Tulsa for the first time on April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Tulsa Theater, where the 90-minute show will feature choreographed routines, live Q&A + onstage auditions to help choose new squad members.  KTUL
  • Celebrity Attractions announced the 2026–27 Broadway season will bring new musicals to Tulsa Performing Arts Center soon. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch for parts of northeast Oklahoma from Thursday morning through Thursday evening, warning against outdoor burning due to high winds + low humidity.  FOX 23

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Beggs Public Schools loaned five buses from neighboring districts after an EF3 tornado damaged several buses, keeping students on track with daily transportation (the district is working on a long-term plan).  2 News
  • Tulsa Public Schools announced in February a plan to cut 50 administrative roles + detailed the positions affected at a board meeting on March 23, with all contracts honored through June 30.  2 News
  • Jenks Public Schools will close its planetarium at the end of this school year due to funding limits, converting the space into an esports center next school year. Parents and students expressed disappointment while the planetarium director will remain on staff as a science teacher.  News On 6

  • Officials announced plans Tuesday for The Harbor, a $16M low-barrier homeless shelter operating 24/7. Built at the former juvenile detention center at 315 S. Gilcrease Museum Rd (supported by city and local foundations), it will help expand capacity for unsheltered residents.  News On 6
