- ➤ Mindy Barnes rescued her dog Roscoe—shot in April 2024 and facing double amputations—after seeing his story posted online by the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, and he underwent emergency surgery at a local animal hospital. He is now learning to walk on two legs and is set to receive a custom-made wheelchair as he continues his recovery. 2 News

- ➤ A police presence after a suspect led officers on a pursuit closed South Elwood between 71st and 81st—delaying Jenks Northwest Elementary’s start until 9:45 a.m. on Thursday morning. FOX 23
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Expo square leaders broke ground on March 27 for a new 20,000-square-foot Ford Performance covered horse-riding arena that is expected to boost Tulsa's economy by attracting more horse events. The $3 million project is funded by a revenue bond approved by Tulsa taxpayers in summer 2024 and could be finished by September. 2 News

- ➤ A Tulsa firefighter spoke out against Governor Kevin Stitt’s decision to fire State Forester Mark Goeller, saying his leadership helped the fire service during wildfires. Goeller resigned and will leave the job on March 31—supporters say his work was key in fighting the blazes. News On 6
- ➤ Early voting is underway in Tulsa County for local elections that include school board, Tulsa Tech Center, municipal council, and state representative races — voters must visit the County Election Board at 555 N Denver Avenue and use valid ID. The polls reopened today at 8 a.m. after closing Thursday at 6 p.m. KTUL
- ➤ Federal grants over $2 million will fund a new cold case unit at the Attorney General's office — a move to help law enforcement with prosecutions and offer more support for domestic violence victims. The office will allocate $500,000 to bolster these efforts and update its inventory of violent crime cases — a step that will improve investigations. 2 News
- ➤ Tulsa city councilors warned that if Senate Bill 3 passes as written the city could face a $10 million annual increase in sewer bills and a $100 million capital investment—residents on fixed incomes may see the impact as the current biosolids process must change.
