COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Monday, Tulsa Zoo broke ground on the new Clayton and Gina Hughes Family Giant Anteater Habitat, which will open in the fall. The exhibit will feature indoor and outdoor areas, a wading pool and natural substrate (for digging and foraging) to meet the needs of the vulnerable species.  News On 6

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Eton Square in south Tulsa will get a comprehensive makeover with upgrades that include parking lot resurfacing, renovated interiors and new roofing. Local investors Rob and Cindy Hefner plan the overhaul for the 87,030-square-foot center at 61st and Memorial and are searching for new businesses to join the complex.  FOX 23
  • Buck's Vintage on 66 is reopening in its new shop in the old Hardesty Press building called 66 Collective near South Peoria Avenue and Route 66—owner Mary Beth Babcock said the store will sell western wear and fundraise with commemorative bricks to support installing a 20-foot-tall mascot named Cowboy Bob this summer. The new mascot will join other local Route 66 figures in Tulsa.  FOX 23

CRIME NEWS

  • Tulsa Police investigated a shooting at a Walmart near 81st and Lewis after a suspect fired shots late Tuesday night, when an off-duty Pawnee County deputy working security confronted the shooter and the suspect later arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound.  News On 6
  • Tulsa police arrested a 39-year-old man who allegedly used 10 to 15 fake accounts to send hundreds of unwanted explicit pictures and videos to multiple victims over several years—investigation began on Feb. 19.  FOX 23

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tulsa City Council approved three new TIF districts Tuesday, April 1, to pave the way for 6,000 new housing units by 2028 and set up a committee to review proposals before public hearings. The Crutchfield, Southern Villa and Pearl District projects will focus on expanding housing and improving community infrastructure—an effort led by city officials.  News On 6
  • Motorists in Tulsa have been warned of lane closures at the northwest corner of East 31st and Memorial Drive since Monday, April 1—closures affect the southbound right-turn lane on Memorial and the outermost westbound lane on East 31st due to private utility work that will last a week. Drivers are advised to follow detour routes and drive cautiously through the area.  KTUL
