  • CASA of Northeast Oklahoma is running a multi-county campaign using decorated wooden dolls to boost foster care awareness. Businesses, churches and individuals can sponsor a doll with donations from $100 to $1,000 — the county raising the most funds wins a traveling trophy.  News On 6
  • Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven broke ground on Tuesday for its new facility in Talala with plans to house 18 dog kennels and room for 10 cats. The rescue will serve animals from nearby communities (Collinsville, Oologah, Ramona and Vera) and construction will take about six months.  FOX 23

  • An Oklahoma man says he spent a lot on service dog training that left his pet injured and without the promised support; his claim joins reports of poor conditions (photos taken by a former employee), prompting calls for stricter state oversight while some dogs have been transferred to Torchlight K9.  FOX 23

  • Tulsa voters approved a $609M bond package for Tulsa Public Schools, with funding for student opportunities, facility improvements, technology upgrades & transportation. The measures will boost classroom resources and enhance learning environments without raising property taxes.  2 News
  • OSSAA started a 9-month review of its core activity rules (dating back over 60 years) on Apr. 7. The review will update longstanding guidelines that have governed student competitions statewide.  FOX 23

  • Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond warned today of investment scams on Meta platforms + scammers use deepfake videos and misleading ads to lure investors into risky deals, urging consumers to verify details before investing.  KTUL
  • Today, downtown Tulsa enforces a ban on sleeping in public as part of the Safe Move Tulsa initiative to connect street sleepers with shelters. City partners - including law enforcement and outreach teams - aim to house 1,000 people by year-end.  News On 6

  • Ascension St. John featured a transplant recipient today to show the need for organ, eye, and tissue donation during Donate Life Month in Tulsa. The video invites local residents to register as donors and honor those who give the gift of life.  FOX 23
  • The American Heart Association is hosting the 2026 Tulsa Heart Walk at ONEOK Field on Saturday with doors opening at 8 a.m., Kids Dash at 9 a.m., and the walk at 10 a.m. The event includes CPR training, a tribute wall, and live music (Michelle Linn emceeing).  FOX 23
  • April is the height of tree pollen season in Tulsa as Tuesday’s count was high to very high, mainly due to oak pollen. Dr. Tim Nickel from the Allergy Clinic says a heavy rain can briefly stir up pollen (thunderstorm asthma) before smothering it.  2 News
