CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Tulsa Police Department arrested 41-year-old Michael Cisneros on charges of first-degree murder after 43-year-old Cristobal Luevano died from multiple gunshot wounds on April 12th near 11th and Mingo at an East Tulsa apartment complex—witnesses said Cisneros had confronted neighbors over negative comments before returning with two handguns and shooting Luevano. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Fifty local chefs are competing in the third Tulsa Vegan Chef Challenge by creating special vegan dishes at restaurants. Special vegan menu items will be available through April 30 — diners can vote for their favorite dish and have a chance to win a prize. News On 6

- ➤ On Monday, April 14th, Tulsa 911 Call Center added a mental health clinician with a new COPES program from Family and Children's Services to help manage mental health calls immediately. City officials said the move aims to improve crisis response — letting emergency crews focus on high-risk calls. News On 6
- ➤ Metro Link Tulsa announced that it will change four transit routes that affect how riders travel across the city. The updates include Route 112 running only on Lewis Avenue, Route 201 adding daily service to Tulsa International Airport, Route 490 taking a new path on Olympia Avenue (exiting onto U.S. Highway 75), and Microtransit Zone 6 extending service to Crystal City. - ➤ USDA is cutting $1 billion from two programs that help food banks buy fresh produce. Without this aid, Oklahoma food banks may lose nearly $25 million in the next year—worsening food insecurity for many families. FOX 23
- ➤ City leaders announced a new mental health partnership at the 911 center on April 14 that will automatically connect people in crisis with a professional from Community Outreach Psychiatric Emergency Services. Testing started in March and Family and Children's Services will follow up with callers to help them get the care they need. 2 News

- ➤ OSU Center for Health Sciences was ranked number one by U.S. News & World Report for sending nearly 73% of its graduates to work in underserved areas. The school recruits students from Oklahoma's rural communities (and uses telehealth programs) to help fill local healthcare shortages. News On 6

- ➤ Developers are transforming a former parking lot near 2nd and Greenwood into Santa Fe Square—an ambitious project with apartments, restaurants and office space—to revitalize Tulsa’s Blue Dome District.
