  • A popular event returned on April 16th as the Downtown Midweek Market began its season in Tulsa—featuring local vendors, food trucks and live music—running every Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. until Nov. 5.  News On 6
  • Retired Tulsa Fire Capt. Dannie Caldwell recalled his experience during the Oklahoma City bombing—where he witnessed devastation firsthand—and said his emotional response led him to create a personal memorial. He now trains first responders in confined space rescue and structural collapse scenarios to prepare Tulsa firefighters for future disasters.  News On 6
  • Baby Steps: A Citywide Giving Initiative will hold a one-day donation drive on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Tulsa to help Emergency Infant Services collect diapers, formula, and baby supplies—residents are invited to drop off donations at designated sites.  News On 6
  • The Downtown Tulsa Midweek Market season began on April 16th at Chapman Green—local vendors offered fresh produce, meats, breads, desserts, eggs and pantry staples. The market will run weekly until November 5th and feature live music, themed nights and weather updates on social media.  FOX 23

CRIME NEWS

  • On April 16th, Catoosa man Mark Depew threatened to drive his car into a police station after a dispute at City Hall caused his anger—officers evacuated the building and arrested him after he fled the scene.  News On 6
  • Tulsa Police Department began training on April 16 with the state's first-ever M‑Vac DNA testing machine to help solve roughly 300 cold cases—technology funded by the Tulsa Police Foundation that extracts DNA from challenging surfaces.  2 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Broadway musical version of Back to the Future is playing at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center through April 20 with shows on weekends still available. Celebrity Attractions brought the stage adaptation to town—featuring updated music and effects for fans of the classic film.  News On 6

  • University of Tulsa invites fans to attend its free annual Spring Showcase at H.A. Chapman Stadium on April 26 at 1 p.m. (Gates open at 12 p.m. for food trucks, a Corn Hole Tournament and autographs) as the event will offer family-friendly activities and sideline access to meet players.  News On 6
