- ➤ A Tulsa man named Bryan Rowland began selling his beloved 1969 Mustang Fastback yesterday to raise funds for Scottish Rite for Children hospital that helped save his life as a child with Klippel-Feil Syndrome. He partnered with YouTube host Dennis Collins to restore and auction the car—proceeds will support the hospital. News On 6
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Union Public Schools and Tulsa Public Schools reported that a student, another student, and one staff member died in a car crash on U.S. Highway 169 about three miles northeast of Greeley, Kansas — the victims were returning from a basketball tournament on Monday, May 5th. News On 6
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Over the weekend, Tulsa saw two homicides when a road rage incident near 6th and Garnett led to a fatal stabbing and a man was shot to death on North Cheyenne Avenue, with police investigating both cases+ asking anyone with details to come forward. News On 6
- ➤ Residents have received text messages claiming job offers with high pay and benefits—claims that are scams designed to obtain personal and bank information—so the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Oklahoma advises job applicants to verify offers from original sources before giving out any details. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Mayfest will feature Kids’ World with fun activities for children such as face painting, inflatables, live music and hands-on arts and crafts—held at the 101 Archer building and nearby venues. The festival celebrates Tulsa’s cultural roots under the Stay Gold theme and will run from May 9 to May 11 with specific Kids’ World hours each day. News On 6
- ➤ On May 3rd, Tulsa held Carney Fest celebrating Leon Russell’s legacy with live music and street acts (including jugglers, stilt walkers, and magicians) outside historic Church Studio.
