CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Tulsa police warned residents tonight about a dangerous new fentanyl mix that includes medetomidine—an anesthetic 10 to 20 times stronger than xylazine and resistant to Narcan—that was linked to four cases in the past six weeks and has led officials to plan more aggressive airway management for overdoses. KTUL
- ➤ Xaviar Babudar, known as Chiefsaholic, was sentenced to 32 years in state prison after being found guilty of robbery with a firearm, masked assault and tampering with an electronic monitoring device during a December bank robbery in Bixby, and his state sentence will run concurrently with his federal term (he was previously sentenced to 17 years for bank robberies in seven states and will serve 17.5 years federally before finishing 14.5 years in Oklahoma). - ➤ Tulsa-born musician John Moreland said he no longer supports country singer Zach Bryan after his feature was removed from the album — The Great American Bar Scene — following an online dispute over Bryan's record deal. Bryan said he will re-release the track without Moreland, and Moreland said he will not work with him again in the future. 2 News
- ➤ A Tulsa nonprofit—Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness—is helping Indigenous families restore health by growing traditional foods and teaching community gardening. The group built raised garden beds and installed 20 food gardens in Native households—partnering with tribal seed banks and the Euchee Butterfly Farm. News On 6

- ➤ The City of Tulsa will begin work in June to repave and improve drainage at 91st and Riverside—eliminating a dip above a storm drain—to address safety concerns after two teens died in a fatal crash on Feb. 13. News On 6
- ➤ The Cherokee Nation held a foster care awareness event to recruit new foster families and honor families already caring for Cherokee children. The event is part of the Child Welfare Program’s effort to close the foster care gap—400 kids need care while only 70 homes are in place. KTUL
