- ➤ Local schools, churches — and food banks are preparing to offer meals for students during summer break as federal food assistance cuts raise concerns about future food security. Hunger Free Oklahoma warned that while meal programs remain unaffected so far, officials fear the reductions could eventually pressure families to skip meals and urged concerned residents to contact their congressional representatives. - ➤ The Tulsa Zoo said it denied a request to block the move of Asian elephants Billy and Tina from the Los Angeles Zoo to its new elephant preserve later this year. The zoo said it will continue caring for the animals while a lawsuit alleging misleading statements by the L.A. Zoo director moves forward. FOX 23

- ➤ A Tulsa man named Brandon Jerome Silas was convicted by a federal jury for selling fentanyl that led to a woman's death — text messages, bank records, and witness testimonies linked him to over $450,000 in transactions. FOX 23
- ➤ A Tulsa man identified as Scorpio Flynn was arrested at around 7:10 p.m. near a liquor store at 41st and Garnett after reportedly exposing himself, urinating behind the building, and stabbing a police officer in the face — the officer underwent surgery and is expected to recover. KTUL

- ➤ The Tulsa State Fair announced its concert lineup for the Oklahoma Stage that will feature 11 acts, including rock, country, R&B, Christian and regional Mexican music, performing from Sept. 25 to Oct. 5. Fans can also buy VIP tickets (for $45) until May 18. News On 6

- ➤ Emirates Global Aluminum plans to invest $4 billion in a new primary aluminum production plant at Tulsa Port of Inola — the plant will nearly double U.S. aluminum production. The project will create 1,000 direct jobs and 1,800 indirect jobs — pending the Legislature’s approval of its Memorandum of Understanding with Governor Stitt. FOX 23

- ➤ The City of Tulsa will hold walk-in interviews for open positions on Wednesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 5605 S. Garnett Rd. Employment specialists will conduct first-round interviews—explaining benefits such as medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid holidays, sick leave and paid parental leave—and advise job seekers to bring transcripts or diplomas if available.
