  • Tulsa County paused during National Police Week to honor fallen officers in a solemn ceremony featuring bagpipes and a moment of silence, with a tribute to Sgt. John Arthur Harris II (who died from COVID-19 complications in 2021). Families and community members joined to remember his service and legacy.  News On 6
  • City leaders and community partners will break ground on a new dog park at Legacy Park on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. + The ceremonial event will include a dog dig and renderings as plans aim for an October opening.  News On 6

CULTURE NEWS

  • Mayfest returned Friday in Tulsa at Mother Road Market—a new Route 66-themed location—and runs through Sunday. The smaller-scale festival offers music, food and art from about 50 vendors.  News On 6

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Local businesses in Jenks are frustrated with ongoing delays in the work to widen Elm Street (widening the road from 111th to 131st), which began in January 2025. Phase one now is expected to finish early 2027, affecting daily operations of shops in the strip center.  2 News

  • Mason Teague, a 19-year-old stroke survivor who was left deaf, visually impaired and unable to walk, received his high school diploma in a special ceremony at Skiatook Central Park on Friday when friends pushed him across a bridge so his proud parents could celebrate his achievement.  News On 6

  • Residents and officials gathered at an informal hearing in Owasso to address concerns over a quarry expansion—its proximity to homes, churches, and schools raised property and health worries. The Oklahoma Department of Mines will review public input over the next 30 days to guide further actions.  News On 6
