  • Tatum Guinn will join the Six In The Morning team and anchor News On 6 noon newscast starting May 19th—she anchored the 4 p.m. edition after returning from maternity leave and chose the new slot for more family time.  News On 6
  • The fourth Asian Night Market kicked off at Hannah Banquet Hall near 21st and Garnett and brought Tulsa community members together to celebrate cultures from Vietnam, Japan, China, and the Hmong community. Anna Tran of Tulsa Global District said the event features 14 performers + local vendors and aims to boost representation and business for the community.  2 News
  • The 2025 Black Wall Street Rally is taking place in Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District from May 15 until today. The motorcycle-inspired event offers area tours, live entertainment, workshops & community activities that celebrate the legacy of Black Wall Street.  FOX 23

CRIME NEWS

  • Police investigated a shooting at the Savannah Landing apartments (near 61st and Peoria) early Friday morning when a 16-year-old was shot twice in the leg and taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries while conflicting witness accounts prevented officers from locating a suspect by 7 a.m.  FOX 23

CULTURE NEWS

  • On May 16th, Blue Whale Comedy hosted its Character Showcase at LowDown on N Detroit Ave in downtown Tulsa with eight local comics performing wild and funny personas and a tribute for local comic Evan Hughes' birthday. Doors opened at 7 p.m. and the show started at 8 p.m.—the event was limited to 21 and up.  News On 6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Tulsa Public Schools partners with The Opp Project & local philanthropy to offer free Summer learning programs at select schools from July 7 to 31. The initiative includes afternoon enrichment sessions and full-day off-campus Friday Fundays led by local youth organizations.  News On 6
  • On Friday morning, state superintendent Ryan Walters held an emergency press conference and blasted lawmakers for including a 0.25% income tax cut in the budget—he said it is too small and may make him the most hated at the capitol. Walters called for full tax reform, noting lawmakers still have time to change the plan before the session ends on May 30.  KTUL
