- ➤ Cascia Hall art students painted stones for a Memorial Day community service project honoring veterans at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center Rock Garden in Muskogee and the Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa. John Lew (US Department of Public Affairs rep) invited and led the project. KTUL
- ➤ On Monday, May 25th, hundreds of community members, veterans and civic leaders gathered at Memorial Park Cemetery as vintage warbirds flew over the grounds to honor fallen heroes and address veteran mental health — a reminder of the deep impact of military service. FOX 23
- ➤ Local advocate Maggie Zingman, who has campaigned for justice for 22+ years, is leading her 25th cold-case caravan along historic Route 66 for its centennial celebration. She is headed to Las Vegas for CrimeCon today and will return mid-June before the caravan continues to Chicago. FOX 23

- ➤ Gas prices rose sharply on Memorial Day weekend as Skiatook Lake's Cross Timbers Marina posted a pump price of $7.79 per gallon while boaters continued to fill up amid high fuel costs. - ➤ Local youth replicated the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow during Memorial Day weekend to honor unknown soldiers. The teenagers (ages 14 to 16) completed over 240 hours of training and concluded the vigil at 4:00 p.m. on Memorial Day. KTUL

- ➤ Today, Cherokee Nation hosts a ceremony to send off 12 cyclists departing Tahlequah on Tuesday morning to retrace the Trail of Tears. They join six from the Eastern Band as the ride begins at New Echota, Georgia, on June 1 and ends in Tahlequah on June 19. FOX 23

- ➤ Tulsa Public Schools will offer free breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under as part of the Summer Cafe event from June 1 through June 30. Meal times vary by site (breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.), and all sites will be closed on June 19. KTUL
