  • City Year Tulsa held its annual MLK Day of Service on May 28th at 7:35 a.m.—bringing together AmeriCorps members, staff, and local volunteers for a breakfast celebration and service projects across Tulsa to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.  News On 6

CULTURE NEWS

  • Nathaniel Nash Jr. was certified as the first descendant of the Tulsa Race Massacre and his certification links him to survivor Rush Dean Nash ahead of the anniversary this weekend. Heather Nash, executive director of the Greenwood Foundation, said the certification process is challenging due to hard paperwork — a free family reunion for Greenwood descendants is scheduled on June 1.  2 News

  • A free WORKlahoma job fair took place yesterday at Tulsa Tech’s Lemley Memorial Campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., connecting job seekers with over 30 local employers who provided on-site interviews+ complimentary professional headshots.  News On 6

  • MBK Tulsa and ImpactTulsa launched the Pre-K for All 2.0 campaign today to boost enrollment in high-quality Pre-K programs for the 2025–2026 school year, featuring a website at prektulsa.com and door-to-door support by parent advocates. Training for parent advocates will be held today from 5—7 p.m. at Rudisill Regional Library to guide families through multilingual enrollment information.  FOX 23

  • FC Tulsa will honor Black Wall Street on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. during its match against Birmingham Legion FC by having players wear a special jersey designed by local artist Trey Thaxton that features symbolic elements from the Greenwood District’s history — including names of nearly 200 burned businesses — to pay tribute to the area’s legacy.  News On 6
