Growing Together, a Tulsa nonprofit, is partnering with local groups to build long-term affordable homes in Kendall-Whittier using a mixed-income neighborhood trust—its model reinvests local rent dollars into renovated and rental units.
Over the last three years the project added 47 homes and it plans to more than double that number to support more families in the community.
The City of Tulsa, with Intermountain Forensics and the Greenwood Cultural Center, will host Community Engagement Genealogy Workshops from June 20—22 at the 36th Street North Event Center to guide residents in family tree research and DNA basics.
Workshops run on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.—4 p.m. with an optional session on Sunday, and early registration is required due to limited space.

Tulsa Regional Chamber hosted its annual State of Inclusion event on May 29th at noon at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center where local leaders discussed how inclusive leadership can boost business growth — keynote speaker Silas S.
Dulan III and panelists from Tulsa Area United Way and NORDAM shared plans to strengthen the local economy.
🎭 Culture
Tulsa Youth Opera will put on a production of 'The Hobbit' in June with singers in grades 3–12 performing all the roles in a 90-minute opera at Gussman Concert Hall at the University of Tulsa.
Performances will be Saturday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m.—with free pre-show talks and a dance demonstration offered before each show.

Tulsa Regional Chamber CEO Mike Neal said the city is growing with major projects like a $4 billion aluminum plant and a new ammunition factory, and the PGA Championship will return to Southern Hills in 2032.
He added that local leaders went to Washington to build ties with international investors — helping boost confidence as tariffs eased.

Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services has announced a new program called Employment VIBE to help visually impaired clients secure jobs for those ages 18 and older.
The service will kick off in the fall—offering training for clients who have already mastered adaptive skills and are ready for work.

Impact Fitness in Tulsa offers Rock Steady Boxing classes for people with Parkinson's to help strengthen muscles, improve balance and ease tremors.
Owner Kristen Phelps and yoga therapist Lisa Bracken build support among participants—helping them face the disease together—while the program aims to slow its progression.
