  • Tulsa Innovation Labs was named an honoree in Fast Company’s 2025 World Changing Ideas Awards on June 13th, earning international acclaim for its Tech Hub initiative that boosts global tech innovation—its project also received $51 million in federal funding to advance secure, autonomous systems.  News On 6

CRIME NEWS

  • Today, the Muscogee Creek Nation is using a billboard campaign in Glenpool—designed to collect leads on cases of missing and murdered Indigenous people—to ask anyone with information to come forward.  FOX 23
  • Tulsa Police arrested three men near 31st Street and Sheridan after tracking a stolen car using surveillance video — Rickey Roden faces larceny charges while Isaac Embry and Thomas Amendolara are held for obstruction and false personation.  News On 6

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Tulsa Zoo hosted Decades Night on Friday as part of its Zoo Nights: On the Rocks series for adults over 21—attendees enjoyed themed photo backdrops, giraffe feeding, live music and yard games. Proceeds from the event supported zoo conservation—all funds went back into operating the zoo.  FOX 23

EDUCATION NEWS

  • OKC Thunder’s Thunder Fellows youth program is starting its fifth year—helping Black high school juniors, seniors and college students in Tulsa prepare for college and careers through classroom support, mentorship and peer connections. Hundreds of students applied for next year and new fellows will be announced following interviews in the coming weeks.  News On 6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Oklahoma law protects the right to protest but requires permits for events at state sites or when large crowds gather—organizers must apply 48 hours in advance and follow rules on public spaces. The law bars protesters from blocking roads, and violations may lead to misdemeanor charges with jail time up to one year or fines up to $5,000.  News On 6
  • A federal judge ruled that a lawsuit filed by two female firefighters against Tulsa Fire Department will move forward to trial. The case—alleging that promotions in August 2021 favored less qualified male colleagues—is set to be heard on Aug. 11.  KTUL

HEALTH NEWS

  • Prairie House Assisted Living and its parent company Legend Senior Living faced a second lawsuit that alleged neglect and poor security after a resident with early-onset Alzheimer’s left unsupervised two nights in November 2024 and was later found naked outside—she died ten days later. The lawsuit follows an earlier case in May 2024 where another resident was found dead after leaving his room at night, and the attorney questioned if staff and safety systems were adequate.  KTUL

SPORTS NEWS

  • After a loss in Game 3, the Oklahoma City Thunder will aim to tie the series in the upcoming Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The team will depend on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to drive the offense and counter the Pacers’ strong bench—by reducing turnovers and boosting key plays.  News On 6
