- ➤ Thousands of people will gather today at Tinker Air Force Base to see the Thunderbirds perform their first Oklahoma show since 2019 while visitors can view parked airplanes, the Air Force Drill Team, and the Air Force Band. The air show starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and the Thunderbirds performance begins at 4 p.m. — backup plans are in place for storms. News On 6
- ➤ FOX23 will draw the winner of the 2025 Tulsa St. Jude Dream Home on Sunday as the community watches a new home being built for the hospital. The annual broadcast—now in its 13th year—brings local residents together to support this effort (highlighting community pride). FOX 23
- ➤ Tulsa Public Schools and local nonprofits are partnering to mentor teens and young adults after recent violence in Tulsa—groups such as My Brother's Keeper and 100 Black Men offer community programs to build support and prevent further incidents. FOX 23
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Tulsa County deputies arrested Keith Holmes after he dragged a woman from a moving SUV during a domestic dispute in the Turley area on June 27th at 7:51 a.m., and his mother was also taken into custody for trying to pressure the victim to lie as Holmes faces charges of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and drug-related offenses. - ➤ Author Mateo Askaripour, a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 honoree, will speak at Tulsa's Central Library on July 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. where he will discuss his futuristic novel 'This Great Hemisphere'—this year’s One Book One Tulsa selection that explores themes of invisibility, identity and resistance. - ➤ Neon Prairie Festival will return to Osage Hills this September with 70 bands and new attractions—such as an immersive DJ booth and a human foosball tournament—to boost the lineup. Organizers have also scheduled a pre-festival kickoff party on Friday, Sept. 5 before the main event on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 at Postoak Lodge, about 15 minutes northwest of downtown Tulsa. News On 6

- ➤ Wilson Bryan said his nine-year-old daughter faces constant bullying at Owasso Public Schools and he worries the system is failing because reports were ignored—especially after Nex Benedict’s family filed a lawsuit claiming the district did not take her bullying reports seriously. The district said it has not been formally notified of any legal action. 2 News

- ➤ The Tulsa Housing Authority has secured $36 million to build a 106-unit apartment complex called The Hill Top on the former Sunset Plaza site in downtown Tulsa — the project will include 20 units for residents facing chronic homelessness who will also get case management support with funding from philanthropic contributions, low-income housing tax credits, and $5 million from the city.
