- ➤ Tulsa Area United Way announced it will now serve all of Rogers, Mayes and Delaware Counties after the local branch closed in April to support communities. A task force has been set up and two board members will join in the fall to guide a volunteer-led funding review process + ensure the areas get the support they need. FOX 23
- ➤ The Step Up Now Foundation will host its 6th annual Step Up to the Grill on Greenwood BBQ Fest at the Historic Greenwood District on Sept. 1, offering free entry with live music, food vendors, and a barbecue competition. - ➤ Authorities in Stroud rescued over 400 dogs from Add Love Pets L.L.C. — the animals were removed from horrific conditions after a search revealed they were crammed into small spaces and covered in waste, and the facility owner was arrested while police conduct an investigation into the alleged puppy mill. - ➤ Tulsa's Vagabond Art Gallery will host the Level Up art show on August 23 from 5 to 9 p.m. along Route 66 as local artists must submit their works by August 9 and drop off framed pieces by August 16 + vendors can apply for free booth space. News On 6

- ➤ Home insurance rates in Oklahoma have soared to the highest in the nation as severe weather and inflation pushed costs to an average of $6,133, with homeowners paying 119% more than the national average. Lending Tree analyst Rob Bhatt said rates for single-family homes increased by 51% over five years and 9% last year (nearly 1 in 5 homes is uninsured) and advised homeowners to compare quotes for discounts.
