- ➤ Tulsa Girls’ Home broke ground on two new town homes, bringing the total to four for women turning 18 to gain independence by offering affordable housing that helps them save for future home ownership — new pickleball and basketball courts are near completion to enhance the campus wellness program. - ➤ Paws in Need held its 4th annual Rockin’ Down the Highway fundraiser on Sunday at the Boman Twin Event Center — offering a concert, bingo, a silent auction, a penny auction and a Tex-Mex dinner. - ➤ The Tulsa Police Department is recruiting youth ages 14 to 21 for its Cadet Program — which offers weekly police training, ride-alongs and community outreach — and applicants must attend two consecutive meetings, pass an interview and complete a background check. - ➤ Tulsa Police Chief Dennis Larsen said the curfew for minors in the downtown area—set in response to three shootings in June—remains in effect on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until mid-October while a new taskforce has already removed nearly 80 guns from the streets with fewer than 10 citations issued.
