ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A multi-vehicle crash on I-40 near Muldrow in Sequoyah County killed a 69-year-old man (John Beahn from Fruitland Park, Florida) when three vehicles, including two commercial trucks, collided at about 1:35 a.m. on August 3rd, and westbound lanes remained closed for over 13 hours while crews cleared the wreckage.  News On 6

CRIME NEWS

  • Tulsa police arrested Robert J. Rhoades after he allegedly sliced a woman's throat on an MTTA bus near Cheyenne Ave and West 3rd St, and hospital officials said she underwent surgery for her injuries while officers found blood on him and a bloody knife in his pocket + he now faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, false impersonation, and a Missouri fugitive warrant +.  News On 6

  • Tulsa's Circle Cinema hosted the 2025 Cat Video Festival in the historic Kendall Whittier District where cat lovers gathered to watch videos, animations, and music clips, and the event partnered with StreetCats— a local cat rescue that now owns its building at 3105 South Winston Avenue— to donate part of the ticket sales.  FOX 23

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • After one of the wettest springs on record, Oklahoma has been drought-free since June for the first time since 2019—state officials said improved soil moisture has helped farmers in the northeast and may lower fire risks while conditions remain drier in the southwest.  KTUL

  • Today the City of Bixby closed the Haikey Creek Bridge west of East 121st Street South and South Garnett Road for repairs that will take about 75 days until mid-October — officials advised drivers to use an alternate route and plan extra time as nearby construction continues.  FOX 23
  • Oklahoma lawmakers honored former Governor George Nigh yesterday by praising his bipartisan leadership and calling for a return to civility in politics—comments from the tribute stressed his role as a unifying figure.  News On 6

HEALTH NEWS

  • Macy's Clinic opened in 2024 in Creek County to support people facing unplanned pregnancy and provide free, medically accurate information—filling a gap in local maternal care. The clinic has made 500 appointments for more than 100 individuals and now accepts walk-ins at 1500 South Main Street in Sapulpa.  FOX 23
  • A mosquito trap in north Tulsa tested positive for West Nile virus last week, the Tulsa County Health Department said, and officials reported that the detection— the first this season— is routine so they will treat the area over the next few weeks to reduce mosquito numbers.  KTUL
