- ➤ Tulsa police arrested a convicted felon after a nearly nine-hour standoff that began as a domestic dispute at a home near East 38th Street and 145th East Ave—officers used pepper balls and tear gas to force him out and later took him to a hospital for shoulder pain. News On 6
- ➤ Tulsa Police Department warns drivers to slow down in school zones as the school year begins—some drivers have been caught going as fast as 48 mph in a 25 mph zone and risk a $500 fine. FOX 23

- ➤ A new state law now bans cellphones in public schools during the school day, and districts must manage how to enforce the rule. - ➤ Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols defended the citys agreement with the Muscogee Creek Nation after Governor Kevin Stitt filed a lawsuit on Wednesday—saying he had to act as the governor would not address issues from the McGirt ruling while tribal leaders backed the settlement that aims to keep Tulsa safe. - ➤ State lawmakers said Tulsa's levee system will be repaired in the coming months as the design phase begins for a $180 million project. Construction will start in about 18 months—ensuring the area is better protected from flooding. FOX 23
- ➤ Today, the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust announced updates to Healthy Incentive Grants for Schools and Communities for fiscal year 2026—simplifying the application process and increasing grant awards to up to $80,000 for schools and $100,000 for communities.
