- ➤ Tulsa police arrested two teenagers on August 23 after a victim reported being robbed at gunpoint near 2800 S. Garnett and a slow-speed chase ended when family members told the suspects to stop; a search of their Nissan Pathfinder found four firearms and over $2,000 in cash. KTUL

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Little Light House, a Tulsa nonprofit, is launching a mobile classroom (an RV turned learning space) to serve families on its waitlist of nearly 500. The classroom will offer two-hour sessions weekly for six weeks to four families of children with autism ages 2 to 4 in North Tulsa and later expand services across the state. FOX 23

- ➤ The Tulsa Housing Authority opened The Phoenix at 36 North, a mixed-income housing community that is the first phase of a seven-part redevelopment project. Residents began moving in Tuesday, August 26th — officials plan to add more housing units and retail spaces in upcoming phases. News On 6
- ➤ The Tulsa County Election Board advises voters who became physically incapacitated after 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 25—if they cannot reach the polls—to call soon for an emergency ballot for the special bond election for Owasso Public Schools on September 9. FOX 23

- ➤ The Cherokee Nation and YWCA Tulsa signed an MOU to launch the Public Health and Wellness Fitness Partners Program that will subsidize 50% of gym membership fees up to $50,000 for Cherokee Nation citizens—covering all YWCA Tulsa locations. The program, funded by the Public Health and Wellness Fund Act, lets participants use group fitness classes, personal training, childcare, and wellness workshops. KTUL
