ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Tulsa police responded early yesterday near 11500 E. Pine St and found a black Ford Edge off the road and an overturned Subaru in a nearby field—rescuing a severely injured woman who was taken to the hospital in critical condition. KTUL
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday, August 27th, Tulsa Police investigated a shooting near the Brighton Park Apartments on Darlington Avenue that damaged an apartment and a car—no injuries were reported and no suspect has been identified. News On 6
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Little Light House in Tulsa launched a mobile classroom on August 27 to provide early intervention services for children with special needs and help ease a waiting list for over 500 families. The mobile classroom will begin serving families next month in northern Tulsa—its statewide travel depends on its success. News On 6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, Tulsa city officials announced progress on housing initiatives by completing their first project and streamlining six permits at Hilltop Apartments—efforts that include choosing Housing Partnership Network to manage part of the $75 million IOT3 funds and may lead to bonds for faster project funding. The city is working to add more housing units to help ease the local shortage. FOX 23
- ➤ Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond held a press conference today and stated that the Highway Patrol must not shift resources from Tulsa and other metro areas—he warned that such a move would jeopardize public safety in high-density regions. KTUL
- ➤ The Oklahoma Broadband Office finalized a $550 million proposal to connect 34,000 unserved or underserved locations with internet service—using fiber optic for 65% of sites, fixed wireless for 20%, and low-earth orbit satellite for the rest. Public feedback will be accepted until Sept. 1 before the proposal is finalized and submitted. News On 6
- ➤ Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond blocked a plan to remove state troopers from Tulsa and Oklahoma City interstates, saying the move was unlawful and a threat to public safety. The Department of Public Safety will reassign troopers on November 1 — its plan to shift resources to rural areas will be reviewed following Drummond's ruling. News On 6
