  • A 13-year-old boy died in a fireworks accident at an apartment complex in Tulsa when the mortar-style device he held exploded—neighbors rushed to help amid the chaos.  KTUL

  • Black Tech Street and NVIDIA announced a new long-term partnership on Wednesday at the Greenwood Cultural Center to turn Tulsa's historic Greenwood District into an AI-powered community model — the deal will bring AI education, innovation and economic growth to Tulsa and beyond.  FOX 23
  • Today, a Tulsa woman launched her fashion business after finding sobriety—she explained her recovery journey led her to this dream job.  FOX 23

CRIME NEWS

  • Tulsa Police are searching for a missing woman named Amanda Friberg after her green truck was found abandoned near 200 West 71st on Wednesday afternoon—her husband reported she took him to work in Sapulpa at 5:30 a.m. and officers have used a helicopter, drone and K9 units to locate her.  FOX 23
  • The Tulsa Police Department investigated a shooting early Wednesday morning when officers responded at 1 a.m. near 52nd Street and South Detroit Avenue and found a man with a gunshot wound to his hand—he was taken to the hospital and is expected to live.  FOX 23
  • On Wednesday, a Sand Springs man named Anthony Clay Russell was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for fatally shooting Tasha Shepard at a bus stop on Oct. 22—surveillance footage and text messages showed he followed her out of his vehicle after a dispute over payment for sex.  KTUL
  • A Tulsa woman who served 27 years for killing her ex-boyfriend is asking the judge to lower her life sentence because she says she was abused. Her resentencing hearing resumed today at 9:45 a.m.—the judge may decide later if she will be released.  2 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Drivers in Tulsa paid more for gas than in Oklahoma City, with the cheapest gas costing about $2.64 more per 18-gallon fill-up using data from August 20. A FOX23 investigation found experts said the difference was due to market strategy+ one driver said he planned to fill up in Oklahoma City to save money.  FOX 23

  • OU will host Michigan for a primetime football game at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman on Saturday. Head coach Brent Venables and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle said the Sooners must slow star quarterback Bryce Underwood—while boosting running back Jadyn Ott’s impact—as Michigan makes its first visit to Norman and adjusts its lineup with a missing linebacker for the first half.  News On 6
