- ➤ Tulsa's Family Safety Center will soon move to a new 65,000—square—foot building near 31st and Sheridan that is four times larger than its current space at TPD headquarters to better serve survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse. Funding for the $24 million building comes from city, county, state and local foundations, and the center will be ready by mid-November to provide improved facilities including a new courtroom and wellness areas. - ➤ Tulsa is hosting Welcoming Week today as part of a global celebration that began on September 12 at Gathering Place—this year’s theme is 'Stories We Share' to build community inclusion. Immigrant students can attend Understanding Higher Education today at Tulsa Community College’s Northeast Campus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and other free events for families and skilled workers will continue through Sunday.
