- ➤ WindShape, a Swiss company, opened Tulsa's first environmental drone flight test lab at Skyway Range on September 25th — a facility that uses small fans to simulate weather conditions — to help developers certify drones for public safety and military roles. - ➤ The historic Fire Station 8 building in Tulsa celebrated its 100th anniversary on August 1st near East 14th Street and South Trenton Avenue—it opened in 1925, served as a fire station until 1996, and was renovated in 2014 to honor its role as the last station to stable horses. FOX 23
- ➤ At the Tulsa State Fair, visitors see a goat, sheep, pig, and either duck or chicken race in the Great American GASCAR Crazy Races—an event held daily with races starting at 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. on weekdays and additional times on weekends. - ➤ Tulsa Zoo is saying goodbye to Hodari—the first southern white rhino calf born at the zoo—as he moves to an AZA-accredited facility under the Species Survival Plan to help protect his species; visitors can see him before he leaves. KTUL

- ➤ Attorney General Gentner Drummond commended Dr. Steven Shin—one of the nation’s top hand surgeons—for successfully performing a wrist surgery on OU quarterback John Mateer on September 24 in Los Angeles after Mateer injured his right hand during the Sooners' 24 to 17 win over Auburn. News On 6
- ➤ Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s office will partner with the Oklahoma Press Association to host free seminars on open meeting and open records laws starting Oct. 27 at Tulsa Technology Center Riverside Campus—sessions will also be held in Norman, Stillwater and Oklahoma City while Deputy General Counsel Thomas R. Schneider answers questions and offers continuing education credits. KTUL
- ➤ State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced his planned resignation on Sept 24 at the State Board of Education meeting and then avoided media interviews while board members and protestors reacted to the news—Gov. - ➤ Today the Tulsa Fire Department’s TFD CARES program connects citizens with needed community resources by teaming with local hospitals, behavioral health partners and Tulsa Day Center.
