  • Tulsa Public Schools and the state fair have partnered to offer free parking at the Education Service Center and complimentary shuttles to the Expo Center Pavilion — the shuttles will run every Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday until the fair ends on October 5.  2 News
  • Tulsa Crime Stoppers held its annual Badges and BBQ fundraiser—police and fire teams competed in a cookoff to raise money for its tip line and community policing programs.  FOX 23

  • Oklahomans showcased their musical talent at the 51st Oklahoma State Fiddling Championships held at the Tulsa State Fair on Saturday—drawing a crowd of skilled fiddlers and local fans.  FOX 23

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rejoice Christian School is holding its 2nd annual football halftime drone show today — the event features drones hand flown by aviation program students instead of using pre-programmed software.  FOX 23

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond joined a national legal effort urging the Supreme Court to let states enforce laws that limit girls' and women's sports to biological females—he filed briefs alongside other states after federal appeals courts overturned similar laws in Idaho and West Virginia.  KTUL
  • The city of Tulsa launched a graffiti removal program downtown using a $250,000 grant from the Department of Justice—this grant now covers free cleanups by daily code enforcement checks. City leaders also plan to work with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation—expanding the program to clear ODOT properties.  2 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Saturday, the Tulsa community reached a $210,000 goal at the Susan G. Komen Tulsa Race for the Cure 5K to fund breast cancer research and support patients. FOX23 meteorologist Laura Mock led her team 'Laura's Haboobs' — she said her weather-themed team name symbolized hope during her own cancer treatment.  FOX 23
  • The Oklahoma Pet Collective in partnership with Petco Love is holding a drive-thru vaccine and microchip clinic today at its facility on South 122nd East Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering $5 microchips with lifetime registration and ID tags while the DAPV/HCP Vaccine is free and cars are served in arrival order — ensuring local pet owners access to essential care.  FOX 23
