  • The Jenks Chamber of Commerce held its third annual Symphony and Sweets event at the Jenks Downtown Commons with the local high school orchestra playing and vendors offering treats — a celebration that Mayor Cory Box said is growing and safe for families. He noted the event helps residents learn about nearby businesses while encouraging community networking.  FOX 23
  • On Saturday night, Wrestling for a Cause celebrated its 14th anniversary show in Broken Arrow—raising funds for children fighting cancer. Founder Tim Rockwell said the event set the stage for a November 1st show that will benefit a little girl battling cancer.  FOX 23
  • Today, Challenge Air For Kids and Friends held their 7th annual Tulsa Fly Day at Tulsa Riverside Airport at Tulsa Tech’s Riverside campus — children with disabilities served as co-pilots with donated aircraft while CEO April Culver said the event gives them a rare chance to experience flight.  FOX 23
  • Hundreds gathered at LaFortune Park Saturday morning for the ninth annual Tulsa Rosary Rally where participants started with Mass at 8 a.m. and then joined a 5K run that involved praying each decade of the rosary. The event also featured a rosary relay in which teams were judged on reverence while prizes were awarded and funds raised for St. Michael's Catholic Radio + the theme Pilgrims of Hope added special meaning to the day.  FOX 23

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Cherokee Nation partnered with DreamWorks Animation and NBCUniversal to dub How to Train Your Dragon into Cherokee to help preserve the language—this film was released on October 1 and is streaming on Peacock.  FOX 23
  • Peace of Mind Bookstore, a longtime nonprofit in Tulsa, is celebrating its 50th anniversary today with book signings, live music, and giveaways near 15th Street and South Quincy Ave — the event marks the store's legacy and strong community ties as Peggy Oneil, who joined in 1980, noted its role as an anchor for local learning and memories.  2 News
  • The Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture launched its '50 Days to Make History' campaign to raise the final $1.6 million needed by November 15 to open doors at 422 North Main Street. The effort follows a $500,000 gift received—helping drive the museum towards its $18 million goal for state matching funds to fund exhibits.  FOX 23
  • On Saturday, Tulsa hosted the second annual Dark Market that showcased alternative and gothic art and fashion with a mix of all-ages activities until 8:00 p.m.—followed by an adult program featuring live shows and unique vendors until 11:00 p.m.  FOX 23
  • Cards and More’s Pokéween event is combining a Pokémon card show with trunk-or-treat fun at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center, having started on Saturday and running today from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—it offers candy for kids, raffle prizes, a costume contest and over 100 vendors selling cards, comics, sports cards and anime collectibles with a $5 fee for adults and free entry for kids 12 and under.  FOX 23
  • Country music artist Jake Banfield made waves on October 1 by touring with Cooper Allen and working with noted acts after teaching himself guitar following a college injury—he recently moved back from Nashville and is set to join the list of Oklahoma country superstars.  News On 6

  • Supporters of April Wilkens held a vigil Saturday to ask Judge Guten to change his decision so she may be resentenced under the Oklahoma Survivors' Act—saying she was not believed when she acted in self-defense.  FOX 23

HEALTH NEWS

  • Insight Eyecare in Glenpool and Jenks offered free eye exams and glasses on Giving Sight Day on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 to help residents get needed care and avoid high costs. The event aimed to remove financial barriers and let people see clearly + improve their outlook.  News On 6

SPORTS NEWS

  • Oklahoma won 44 to 0 over Kent State last Saturday at 8:21 p.m. in Norman as Michael Hawkins scored four touchdowns and the defense forced turnovers and recorded sacks; coaches said the win improved their record to five to zero and the team is preparing for the Red River Rivalry—emphasizing ball security for the upcoming game.  News On 6
  • The No. 5 ranked Oklahoma Sooners will host Kent State Saturday at 2 p.m. CT in Norman as they prepare for next week's Red River Rivalry. The team will wear throwback uniforms — honoring the 1985 national champions to help avoid injuries before the big game.  News On 6
