- ➤ Tulsa held a memorial service to honor 16 fallen firefighters, including Lt. Brian Bizzell who died two weeks ago. Families and firefighter cadets gathered to witness the bell ringing tradition and receive red roses as a token of thanks, and Fire Chief Michael Baker said the event recognized the deep sacrifices made by these heroes. - ➤ The Touring Route 66 Across Oklahoma Fundraising Dinner Gala will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. at 3770 Southwest Boulevard in Tulsa (the event offers dinner, cocktails, a wine pull and an auction) to support Route 66 Village and Red Fork Depot. FOX 23

- ➤ The Greater Tulsa Area Indian Affairs Commission is hosting the 9th annual Native American Day celebration at Dream Keepers Park with the theme —From Trails to Triumph— to honor the longstanding Native heritage in Tulsa. City and tribal leaders along with representatives from the Muscogee—Creek, Osage, and Cherokee Nations will participate as the event is held every second Monday in October. FOX 23
- ➤ Artist Tyler Thrasher will open Materia, a new Tulsa studio featuring over 4,000 glowing flowers and hands-on workshops on October 25 from 5 to 10 p.m. at 2421 East Admiral Blvd — the event will also showcase local food, drinks, and a debut of his new work. News On 6
- ➤ Tulsa Botanic Garden hosted its annual fall festival on Monday, October 13th 2025, featuring an innovative Scarecrow Contest with around 30 entries (local families, schools, businesses, and community groups) and family activities like a hay maze, pumpkin patch, and new pumpkin house. Visitors vote for a people’s choice award while staff choose a favorite to win a $200 prize and free entry to next year’s contest as the garden runs BOO-tanical events every Thursday. News On 6

- ➤ Tulsa Tech’s Lemley Campus will host the Ready, Set, Hired Career Expo on October 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—over 40 exhibitors and employers will join the free job fair to provide on-site resume assistance, professional headshots, and a keynote by Mayor Monroe Nichols. FOX 23

- ➤ The Tulsa Fire Department celebrated its 125th anniversary Monday—after Sunday’s 30th annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial—by beginning to distribute a commemorative badge designed by Lieutenant Craig Deerinwater that all uniformed members will wear for a year in honor of the milestone. FOX 23
- ➤ Mayor Monroe Nichols led a meeting at Hardesty Regional Library where leaders from public works, police, fire and water and sewer departments gave updates and answered questions about city operations.
