- ➤ The Gatesway Foundation hosted its second annual Disability Awareness Powwow in Broken Arrow this weekend to celebrate inclusion & Native culture with dance, music, art, and food. Proceeds from the event help support the foundation’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities and the celebration continues today in the morning. FOX 23
- ➤ Barbara Boyer has volunteered at Tulsa’s Oktoberfest since 1987—helping with setup and vendor assistance at the event celebrating German culture—and said her work brings lasting joy. The longtime volunteer plans to continue her efforts to keep one of Tulsa’s most cherished traditions thriving. 2 News
- ➤ Yesterday afternoon, Asher Point Independent Living held its second annual fall festival called 'The Greatest Residents on Earth' with carnival games, a petting zoo, live music and more for residents and other independent living groups in Tulsa. - ➤ Tulsa Zoo held its 36th annual HallowZOOeen event on Friday night—kickstarting spooky activities that will engage local families over the weekend. FOX 23
- ➤ The Oklahoma Aquarium will host its 21st annual Hallowmarine next weekend and on Halloween, offering indoor trick-or-treating, costumes, candy, and marine life encounters — with over 20 candy stations, a live diving pirate shop, and photo opportunities. - ➤ Tulsa International Airport used drones on Friday to inspect runways, patrol fence lines, and keep deer away from the airfield as part of a federally funded program. Operators coordinated with the control tower to safely manage flights and drones and several airport managers from out of state visited to learn about the system. News On 6
- ➤ Tulsa City Council voted 8-0 last Friday, October 17th, to return Council Oak Park and Stickball Parks to the Muscogee Nation. The parks will remain open to the public and honor a promise made last year to restore a historic site (a traditional gathering place) to the tribe. News On 6
- ➤ Mayor Monroe Nichols and city leaders will host the third Community Conversation meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.—focusing on children, youth, and family outcomes at Tulsa Tech Lemley Campus' Client Service Center. Panelists include leaders from ImpactTulsa, The Opportunity Project, and CAP Tulsa as residents discuss key local issues. KTUL

- ➤ Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Chi Omega Chapter invites Tulsa residents to join its Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, themed Stride & Survive: The Pink Purpose, to honor survivors and raise funds for Soulful Survivors. Registration is from 9 to 9:20 a.m., guest speakers present from 9:20 to 10:20 a.m., and the walk with line dancing runs from 10:45 a.m. to noon with a kid’s zone from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. — survivors and children 10 and under attend free.
