- ➤ Sherry Sims, a Tulsa survivor of domestic abuse, wrote the book 'Searching for Love' to help female inmates break the cycle of abuse by giving them the option to join a course—she held a Saturday fundraiser for Empowered Women of God Intl. Each copy of her book offers a way to enroll in the course that has helped over 4,000 women find a new path. News On 6
- ➤ Guts Church opened a new building for kids today in Tulsa that triples its space for children's ministry. Inside, children can play video and arcade games and enjoy outdoor sports — church leaders say the new facility will help kids learn about their faith. FOX 23
- ➤ Greater Union Baptist Church in the Phoenix District will host the first annual Unity in the Community outreach event on Saturday, October 25—running from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will offer a three-meat BBQ dinner for $15, a free hot dog dinner for kids 17 and younger, a car and motorcycle show, a kids zone, live music, raffle, speakers, an American Red Cross blood drive and more at 955 East 36th Street North as part of its playground fundraiser.
