  • Carabelle’s Legacy, a Tulsa non-profit that helps women rebuild their lives, lost key assets including a customer screen, power cord, mixer, and shaker when its Micro Café was burglarized on October 20; founder Maria Morris said the loss affected their revenue and she is seeking community help to rebuild the safe space.  2 News

  • New Life Tabernacle Church in Sand Springs hosted its second All Nations Day event where guests enjoyed food, music, and worship from 15 countries+ the church turned its Family Center into an international fair. Pastor Stephen Jones and his wife Rachel said their work as missionaries in Honduras helped shape the event+ many locals joined to learn about different cultures.  FOX 23

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The U.S. National Arabian and Half-Arabian Horse Show brought thousands of visitors to Tulsa from October 16-25 and added an estimated $34 million to the local economy—organizers plan to keep the event in Tulsa for future years.  News On 6

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture said SNAP food aid will not be sent out on Nov 1 due to the government shutdown. Families in Oklahoma are advised to seek local food assistance as lawmakers work to reopen the government—concerns grow that benefits could stop if no deal is reached.  News On 6

HEALTH NEWS

  • SoberLife Recovery Inc. announced the opening of Legacy House in Tulsa for justice-involved men—offering mental health care, peer support, life skills training, job assistance, trauma recovery coaching, and legal help while working with local partners like Family & Children’s Services, Tulsa County Alternative Courses, and GRAND Mental Health.  FOX 23

  • During NFL Week 8, local products made an impact—Tulsa native Packers running back Josh Jacobs scored a three-yard rushing touchdown in Green Bay's 35-25 win over the Steelers while former Oklahoma stars also posted key numbers in other games.
