- ➤ Oaks Country Club in Tulsa will host its 59th annual Charity Masquerade Ball on November 1 at 6 p.m.—the event will feature a live auction, casino games, wine tasting, dinner, dancing and more to benefit Show Inc., a nonprofit offering job training for adults with developmental disabilities. - ➤ Coffee Bunker will hold its Bunker Bites fundraiser on Nov. 6 at the Allen Chapman Student Union Center at the University of Tulsa. - ➤ RSU graduate student Seyton Thomas was crowned as 2026 Royal International Miss Oklahoma in a ceremony held in Oklahoma. She will represent the state in an international competition in Orlando next summer and serve as master of ceremonies for the Red and Navy Royale Auction and Dinner on Nov. 8 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Catoosa. - ➤ Tulsa Tech’s 60-hour Autonomous Mobility course taught students to build and program drones—providing skills that landed many in aerospace repair and manufacturing jobs before today. Graduates like Justin Adair quickly filled local roles, and the school plans to expand the program next year to help ease a national shortage of aviation technicians. News On 6
- ➤ Today at Broken Arrow Public Schools Event Center, the Sky is the Limit career fair showed 6th graders aviation and aerospace programs with flight simulators, drones, and robotics from groups like Tulsa Tech—giving kids a clear look at Oklahoma’s growing aviation job market. FOX 23
- ➤ The Learning Experience preschool in Tulsa held an interactive lesson for young students to honor local first responders on National First Responders Day – children participated in role-play, demonstrations, and story time to learn about community safety. - ➤ On Wednesday, the Greenwood Legacy Corporation held its first public meeting at the Greenwood Cultural Center to share plans for renewing the Greenwood neighborhood and hear input from local leaders including Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols and GLC Chair Dr. Lana Turner-Addison — City Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper voiced concerns over board selections. The next meeting is set for Saturday, November 1 at 10 a.m. at Langston University Tulsa Campus and is open to the public. FOX 23
- ➤ Governor Kevin Stitt said on Oct.29 that state funds will not be used to secure SNAP benefits, which led Tulsa food pantries to report a 20% rise in visits. The SNAP freeze will start Nov.1 and may affect 116,000 residents — local organizers are preparing to aid those in need. 2 News
