- ➤ Tulsa will honor its veterans with one of the nation’s oldest and largest Veterans Day parades on November 11, where more than 4,000 participants will join a full day of celebrations as VFW Commander Joshua Starks previewed the event. News On 6

- ➤ TulsaGo has announced its third annual Small Business Saturday campaign, Shop Small Tulsa, which will take place on November 29 and involve over 100 local businesses in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, and Bixby. - ➤ During the fifth round of excavation at Oaklawn Cemetery, crews uncovered 83 graves as part of the Tulsa race Massacre Graves Investigation—eight bodies were exhumed as of Monday, with one showing a gunshot wound while the rest are being examined at the on-site osteology lab. FOX 23

- ➤ Brad Absher will record new music with The Superials at The Church Studio on November 19. He will hold two sessions at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for 50 fans each. FOX 23
- ➤ On Thursday, Tulsa Press Club will host a discussion of the new book Staying Gold: The Oral History of The Outsiders at Circle Cinema, where authors Danny Boy'Connor and Jimmie Tramel will answer questions moderated by Jason Collington—attendees can buy a limited number of books and join a signing event held Saturday at the Book Exchange and Bible Bookstore in Pryor. - ➤ The Muscogee Creek Nation started Native American Heritage Month on November 1 with a Council Oak Tree Ceremony at a sacred site in Tulsa that marked a new land transfer to the Nation. It will host a Celebration of Indigenous Cultures at Tulsa Premium Outlets on November 8 and a Native American Christmas Market at Jenks on November 22—giving locals a chance to learn about Indigenous traditions. - ➤ Broken Arrow Public Schools’ Tiger Connect program was recognized by the Oklahoma House Common Education Committee for helping students with classroom behavior issues. State Rep. Ross Ford said the program is a gamechanger that could be used in other districts—Superintendent Chuck Perry had set a high priority on improving classroom order during the 2022-23 school year. - ➤ Rogers State University named Dr. Kim Dyce as head of the Department of Teacher Education; she began her role on Oct. 20 and brings more than 25 years of experience to lead the program and guide the accreditation process. FOX 23

- ➤ City leaders held a town hall today near Vista Shadow Mountain Apartments—at 61st and Memorial—to discuss a $60 million redevelopment plan for the unlivable complex and address concerns like the role of current owners and Section 8 housing. Advisors said the project, which will be completed in five phases over three to four years, will soon show renderings and application details on a new website. FOX 23
- ➤ Tulsa foster mom Janice Sizemore, who has cared for many children, warned that the government shutdown is harming families as SNAP benefits were suspended on November 1 and only partially resumed on November 3.
