  • Life Senior Services is launching a holiday stocking program to support Tulsa seniors who are alone or have limited incomes — community members can donate fully stuffed stockings or gifts from seniors’ wish lists to remind them they are loved — as the holiday season approaches.  News On 6
  • Eden Village celebrated a barn-raising on November 6 — marking its expansion and progress toward self-sustainability. The event brought local members together to support new community facilities.  FOX 23
  • Tomorrow, November 8th, Tulsa Metropolitan Ministries will transform donated firearms into garden tools at Forest Park Christian Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—a program that helps survivors of gun violence start anew.  2 News
  • Hundreds of Tulsa residents lined up at the TCC campus near Apache & Harvard for free groceries after SNAP benefits were delayed during the government shutdown. Food on the Move volunteers handed out 450 food bags in about an hour and plan another distribution next Thursday as need remains high.  News On 6

CRIME NEWS

  • Field experts concluded excavations at Oaklawn Cemetery in search for possible 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre victims and exhumed nine individuals—one an adult male with a gunshot wound who remains well preserved and is expected to yield DNA from his teeth.  KTUL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Tulsa launched its Safe Move Tulsa program to house 25 people from a large encampment near River Spirit Casino—city crews cleared the site using dumpsters and bulldozers—and placed each resident in stable housing; police will monitor the area to prevent its return.  News On 6

HEALTH NEWS

  • Muscogee Creek Nation approved a $185 million financing package — the funds will build a new clinic in Holdenville and expand a replacement clinic in Sapulpa. Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held in upcoming months as construction plans are finalized.  FOX 23
