  • Jolly Lane Lights expands its drive-through holiday display at Admiral Twin Drive-In Theater with over 100,000 new lights + a 400-foot tunnel and themed nights, offering family-friendly scenes and a food drive for John 3:16 Mission. The show runs nightly from Nov. 21 to Jan. 1.  News On 6
  • Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott warns parents about the dangers of minors using BrandArmy, a content-subscription platform that lets creators aged 13-17 earn money from adult subscribers (raising concerns of grooming and exploitation). He urges parents to review device apps and monitor online activity closely.  KTUL
  • The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and FOX23 are partnering for Lift Up Families on Tuesday at the Food Bank's warehouse, with the event broadcast on FOX23 to raise funds for restocking shelves across 24 counties. Donations support 600+ partner pantries and meal programs.  FOX 23

  • TV producer Abbie de Vera has been selected for the Media in the Arts Award for her work on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch segment. The honor will be given Tuesday, Jan. 20 — at the Oklahoma State Capitol to recognize her role in spotlighting local talent.  News On 6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Tulsa Community College will partner with Arvest Winterfest to offer discounted skating at $10.32 for students every Friday night until Jan. 4 outside the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa.  FOX 23

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tulsa City leaders will vote Wednesday night on the next plat step for Black Wall Street Square, a delayed housing project near MLK Boulevard and East Reading Street. Having broken ground nearly two years ago at a $5 million price, the project must address community concerns before construction can begin.  FOX 23
  • Tulsa County officials said Wednesday that they are ready to handle potential winter weather on Thursday (light snow, sleet, and freezing rain) with 60 trained Highway Department employees and 15 salt-spraying trucks prepared to keep roads safe.  KTUL
  • Tulsa County Emergency Management officials advise residents to prepare for colder temperatures by switching to winter tires, filling gas tanks at least half full, and insulating homes. They also recommend checking heating systems and keeping 3 to 5 days of supplies as more winter weather is expected.  KTUL
  • The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has pretreated bridges, hills and overpasses with brine to help keep highways safe today ahead of freezing rain — 25 trucks are set in Tulsa to clear ice if conditions worsen.  2 News

  • Today, GRAND Mental Health released a video offering tips to cope with seasonal depression as shorter days and cool weather approach. The video shares advice for Tulsa residents experiencing cloud cover with temperatures (high 48°F, low 28°F) that may affect mood.  FOX 23

  • The Muscogee Creek Nation opened the Three Ponds Elderly Housing Community today featuring 72 accessible housing units and a community center with games and seating — the site offers affordable housing for tribal members and already has a waitlist prompting further expansion.  2 News
