Weekend Childbirth In-Person Class

About this event

Each of these basic, one-day classes cover labor and birth by vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, pain control techniques, possible medical interventions and postpartum recovery. A fun class to learn the keys of the childbirth process. You will also receive a course book and a helpful companion app that includes videos, checklists and applicable tools.

It can be helpful to take your childbirth class by 34 weeks.

Cost for the class is $40. Fee covers expectant mom and one support person. You only need to register mom. No need to register your one support person that will attend class with you. Discounts are available for those students enrolled in Sooner Car e or are SFHS employees. Please bring proof of insurance or your employee ID to class.

Class Expectations • Please bring one support person, the individual you plan to accompany you for your labor, delivery and recovery. You do not need to register your support person.

• The information in this class will be covered over 4 1/2 hours. To get the most out of this event, please plan to arrive promptly.

• Please bring two pillow s and dress comfortably for the Lamaze and Bradley Method portions of the course.

• The temperature in the Education Center fluctuates so it is a good idea to dress in layers.

• Weekend Childbirth classes are held once a month.

• Our next class is scheduled for 12.6.26 at 1:00 PM.

In-person Classes - Safety Precautions As we resume in-person classes, we must be mindful of everyone involved and follow Saint Francis Health System safety guidelines. These include: • Wearing a mask while in certain areas of the building (we can provide a mask for you and/or your support person if you need one)

• Observing social distancing while in the building, including while in class

• Sanitizing your hands before entering the classroom

Location Saint Francis Hospital - Education Center 6161 South Yale Avenue Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136 (southeast side of campus)

Parking Please park in the Employee Parking Garage (P6) on the east side of the campus. Please refrain from parking in spaces that are marked or labeled or have a sign hanging above them. Parking in one of them will result in a parking fine.

Enter the Education Center on street level. Class will be held on the A level of the education center. These doors are always locked. An educator will be at the doors 15 minutes before class begins to allow you access into the building (12:45 PM).
