Ben serves as chief administrative officer at Energizer Holding, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri, leading Energizer’s legal, compliance, corporate administration, corporate development and human resources functions. Prior to his current role, Ben spent more than a decade in the company’s corporate development and legal groups. Prior to joining Energizer, he worked with leading multinational law firms in St. Louis and London as well as Savvis Inc., a managed hosting and cloud computing provider. Ben graduated with a degree in philosophy from The University of Tulsa and a law degree from the University of Virginia. Ben started at UTulsa in chemical engineering under the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge program. After around his 10,000th throughput calculation, he switched to computer science, where he was part of a team under Sujeet Shanoi, Ph.D., that created Thor the Annealer, a legendary codebreaking software that also snidely commented on the simplicity of the passwords it hacked. Several members of the team went on to work for the NSA. Ben switched majors to philosophy, where he wrote his senior thesis on how to learn, and has been putting it into practice ever since.
